By Henrik Ibsen
June 06, 2017 to June 17, 2017
In a remote Norwegian village, an orphanage is built in the memory of Helene Alving’s late husband, precipitating a crisis that raises the ghosts of the past in the lives of all involved.
A powerful and thought-provoking exploration of morals and conventions. Ghosts was written by Ibsen 135 years ago, but the story and characters are still intensely relevant today. A recent London production won a string of Olivier awards, including the award for best revival, and our production uses this translation of the text. Rescued from the wordiness of Ibsen’s original play, Ghosts is a fast-paced and gripping drama.
The play is directed by Liz Watkinson, who has been deeply involved with Titirangi Theatre for many years. Her last production with us was last year's Little Gem.
The Titirangi Theatre season runs from 6 June to 17 June.
